Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder

We all love to capture tv shows and memories on video so that we can watch them again later. But it's hard to keep up with all of the different formats. This show is on tape, this video is on one disk, another on your camera. You try to back them up on your computer but then forget what folder you put it in or you run out of room.

With Pinnacle's Dazzle DVD Recorder, anyone can transfer video to a DVD using a PC. Simply connect a VCR, DVD player, camcorder or other video device to the Dazzle USB hardware. Then use the software to create a DVD complete with menus and chapters; it's perfect for you budding movie directors. You can burn your video directly to a DVD without first copying files to the PC hard drive, saving both valuable time and space. The DVD can then be played on any home DVD player. Memories saved.

Gadgets that keep your New Years Resolutions on track

Already thinking about your New Years resolution? Maybe this time you can actually stick with it all year with a little help.

Perhaps you would like to wake up earlier everyday to get a little more done each day. Like maybe a workout? Waking up will be a little easier if you could wake up to your favorite song instead of that blaring and annoying beep, wouldn't it. Cygnett has you covered. They have the stylish GrooveNeo iPod alarm clock that charges your mp3 player all night, wakes you up with pleasant music and is ready to go when you are. Cygnett also has the GrooveToons, a cute little round thing with big eyes that does the same as the Neo, but way cuter.

Or maybe you would like to be more organized next year. The SmartShopper digital grocery list organizer is a neat gadget to help you keep track of your groceries and errands. Press Record, say what you would like to add to your list and it adds it on. The SmartShopper comes with nearly 2,500 items and errand to choose from, and you can add your own items as well. And when you're ready to go to the store, it will print out a categorized list for you with your errands on top. Most convenient of all, it magnetically sticks to your refrigerator or mounts to your wall.

For those who wish to travel more, or who would just like to make traveling easier, the Balanzza digital luggage scale can save you time and money at the airport. No more overweight luggage fees. It measures up to 100 lbs and is hand held and small enough to come with you.

And for those who would like to help the environment while helping yourself, a Solio solar charger would not go amiss. They come with plenty of interchangeable tips to charge just about anything, and you can charge your gadgets anywhere the sun shines.

Christmas is coming, get started on your New Years resolutions early or help a loved one with theirs.
Comments

MSI U120 Wind Netbook

MSI Computer will be displaying for our Oo'ing and Aah'ing pleasure, their new U120 Wind Netbook at CES in January. It's like it's predecessor, but better.

It's just over 10 inches long, 7 inches wide, a little over 1 inch thick at its thickest point and weighing in at around 3 pounds (with the battery in). This thing was made to come along with you everywhere and is so much more pleasing to look at (and not hear) than a little yappy dog in your purse. The ergonomic keyboard offers .68 inch spacing on the keys for comfort and a 10 inch LCD screen to keep your eyes from hurting. But the thing I like best about it: It ships with either a standard or retractable mouse! I guess I'm not as hard core, or as computer savvy more like, as some others, but I am simply not nearly as efficient with a touch pad as I am with a mouse.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one of these at CES to take it for a test drive.
Comments

Xlink BT Cellular Bluetooth Gateway

More and more people are cutting off their landlines and going strictly cellular. While being rid of a costly bill, having your cell phone as your sole means of communication can get annoying after a while. After having it in your pocket on vibrate all day, you get home and forget to turn the ringer back on making you miss calls. If you can hear it ring however, you have to run around your house looking for it. And sometimes it doesn't work in certain rooms of the house.

Enter the Xlink BT. This magic little box hooks up to your house phone (that does not require landline service) and up to 3 bluetooth cell phones, allowing you to receive and make calls on your house phone through your cell phone. You leave your cell phone within range of the Xlink and your calls will be heard throughout your house via your house phone. No more missed calls or dead zones. And each cell phone has a different ring tone so you can tell who the call is for.

Stop hunting down your cell phone at home. The Xline BT is available for $79.99.
Comments

Protection specialist Agent 18 has released their case line for the iPod touch 2G.

The ClearShield offers protection without covering up the sleek shine of your iPod. This one has rubber pads on the inside.

Callpod Drone, Versitile USB Bluetooth Adapter

Callpod's newest Bluetooth gadget, the Drone, is interesting in a not too terribly interesting sort of way. It's a 100 meter ranged USB transmitter that works with lots of Bluetooth ...things.

It works with headsets for you Skype and VoIP users, headphones so that you can rock out quietly away from your PC, printers that are all the way over there, from your camera to your computer to your printer, and your iPhone also gets in on the action as well as all sorts of other Bluetoothy things.

Tom Bihn's TSA Approved Checkpoint Flyer Briefcase

Not many people know that the TSA now approves of 3 types of bags for carrying and showing your laptop at the airport that you don't actually have to take it out. The Checkpoint Flyer Briefcase made by Tom Bihn just might be the best one.

It's a stylish 3 sectioned bag, of which one is a very special compartment for your laptop. The Checkpoint Flyer's laptop case is made of high-density thermo-molded foam and offers better protection from every angle than a regular padded sleeve. The case easily folds out from under the top flap to go through the x-ray at the airport, and just as easily folds back in. It's also removable and comes in 4 sizes to fit all Mac and most other laptops. The rest of the bag is U.S. made 1050 denier ballistic nylon, Japanese Dyneema rip-stop fabric, YKK splash-proof zippers, and Poron foam-padded handles.

The bag has more than 10 pockets, each with an O ring to clip on one of Tom Bihn's many organizational pouches, splash proof zippers and comes in 3 different color combinations. It is indeed the perfect carry-on/overnight bag.

SanDisk's Sansa slotMusic Portable Player

SanDisk has recently unveiled the Sansa slotMusic Player, which is specifically designed to only play slotMusic cards; preloaded microSD cards. It's pretty much a high tech cd player in an iPod world.

This palm sized player has no other function but to play these little music cards for you, which you would have to carry around with you if you wanted to listen to a different artist than the one in your player. And these things are tiny. A good thing about the slotMusic cards though, is that they're each 1 GB and you can slip it into your computer and either fill up the empty space or reformat the entire thing to have whatever music you want on it. (Hey, you can bring back the "mixed tape" tradition!) You can play the cards on your computer, phone or any device that has a microSD slot on it. Or you could buy the USB adapter and do things that way. Or you can buy a real mp3 player and download a gazillion songs on it and be done.

So how many albums can you choose from anyway? Not many. So far there are only 35 artists. But to make things more interesting for you, Sansa offers 5 unique players with pictures of artists like ABBA on them. ABBA? Now, I'm not that up to speed on the newest and most popular singers out there, but I'm pretty sure that ABBA is only popular these days with people my parents age.

At least it's cheap. The regular black slotMusic player is only $19.99, or you can get a special player with Akon on it for $34.99.
