TV Season Pass via BitTorrent

It's interesting to watch illegal download sites create a business model for television studios. What a genius idea to offer a season pass to a tv show via BitTorrent. This is how Apple's iTMS TV Show listings should be offered, not necessarily free, but as a package I can download without having to revist iTMS every week. Better yet, why aren't NBC, CBS, ABC et al doing this direct instead of creating middlemen. They already snubbed affiliates by releasing shows online, might as well go the distance. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to shut BTSeasonPass down. I'm personally suspicious of any site asking me to register to download stuff that's probably illegal. Sure they only want username and password, but what's to stop them from associating user stats with IP addresses and tracking which users initiated which downloads, adding to a whole new chain of John Doe lawsuits from the studios? Regardless, if the studios don't fill the need for season pass downloads, sites like BTSeasonPass will continue to pop up to meet the demands of downloaders.
