Who Needs a $200 Trash Can?
I do! I do! Today at Gnomedex, Steve Rubel announced plans for simplehuman to seed some of the companies trash cans to bloggers in an effort to encourage product discussion. Chris and Ponzi already purchased a couple different simplehuman models for the Seattle home shortly after arriving in Seattle. Everytime I drop by for weekly radio show, I covet their kitchen trash can because it's the only can I've found that would keep my cats out and be a perfect fit for an otherwise useless space in our kitchen. The foot pedal works better than any trash can I've ever seen. The lid seals tightly keeping my scavenging felines from dragging chicken bones to some remote corner of my house. The only thing holding me back is the price; I have a hard time justifying a $179 price tag for something I'm using to store disposed waste before it heads for my curb. With the cans at a lower price it becomes a no-brainer for me. It took Steve mentioning the possibility of a free trash can to blog about simplehuman, but you wouldn't need to give me one to convince me they make great products.
