Sub Pop Embraces Podcasting
According to Matt May over at Corante, Seattle indie label Sub Pop is making a subset of songs from the label catalog available for use by podcasters interested in playing music as part of their podcasts. This is great news for podcasters as Sub Pop has a long history of carefully selecting really amazing bands for the label. If indie rock with punk tendencies is what you look for in a great song, Sub Pop may be the place to find exactly the right track for your next podcast. You can subscribe to the Sub Pop RSS feed to get notified about new tracks available to podcasters. Of course the search tool at Creative Commons is still one of the best ways to find independent musicians who allow podcasters to play their songs as part of a show, but seeing one of the larger independent labels get on board should help pave the way for future endorsements by other industry notables.
