Audible Adds Audio Book Feeds
Audible did something really smart this week in adding a list of feeds featuring new releases, best sellers and popular titles in various categories. I'm personally thrilled they added lists for new free audio programs and their list of new releases because I'm horrible at remembering to download new books for my monthly subscription fee. My only hope is they add more content in the description section of the feed because while I like seeing the title and a link to their page, I'm already a customer and what I would assume they want is to keep me as a customer. More information reminds me why I'm happy to spend $20 per month for audio books. I don't need to visit the Web site, if the description in the feed is compelling, I'll make the decision to download the book before I ever hit their site. Pay-as-you-go customers should have the option to read full details about a book in their news reader too, after all the primary objective of the entire Audible Web presence is to turn a window shopper into a customer. Putting the product description in the feed lets me find out about the book before I ever get to the site, which is a good thing. Audible, you're off to a good start, now impress me with more detail in the feeds. To add your favorite feeds, visit the Audible RSS page.
