Broadband is back

Three weeks after my move, I finally have broadband again.

Mediacom never came through. After numerous calls to customer service, all of which resulted in the promise of a supervisor calling me, I just gave up. A bill from Mediacom arrived last week, attempting to charge me for service from September 6 through October 5. I made one final call, on September 2, asking how they could be billing me for September, when service hadn't been active since I moved on August 15. I was told someone could be at my house to connect me that day - thanks, but no thanks.

In the meantime, I had scheduled Qwest/MSN to connect me with DSL for $20 less than I previously paid for cable Internet. Aside from a PPP glitch the day my modem arrived, Qwest remained on top of things every step of the way. And while you may have heard horror stories about dealing with Microsoft tech support, MSN support was outstanding.
